The final report just got simpler

The report now has four parts: cover, portfolio allocation, strategy explanation and bibliography. The strategy explanation follows a suggested but flexible order: client, thesis, analyses and conclusion.

The cover and the bibliography sit outside the limit, which is still 5 content pages, and the bibliography can run as long as needed. The format gained two clear rules: 1.5 cm margins and 1.5 line spacing.

Delivery will happen on the BFE site, by the team Leader, as a PDF, by 18 October. The rules are already updated.

Registration extended to 3 October

Registration for the BFC 2026, due to close on 18 September, remains open until 3 October. The other dates do not change: the Trading Days run to 18 October, First Phase results come out on 22 October, and the Grand Final is still on 30 and 31 October, in Brasília.

The competition has already started — the Trading Days opened on 21 September. Even so, you can still join: teams registering now trade the simulator for the remaining time and are assessed by the same criteria as everyone else.

That is less of a disadvantage than it sounds, because portfolio return is not an evaluation criterion. What scores is the quality of the strategy: portfolio construction, risk management, the investment thesis, and alignment with the client's mandate. Fewer weeks in the simulator means less practice time, not a lower chance of scoring well.

Larry has arrived on the platform

Every Brasília Finance Educacional account now has Larry, a tutor that answers questions inside the lesson itself. He knows the content of the videos, the BFC rules and what you have already completed, so the answer lands where you are in the course.

He sits in the violet circle in the corner of each lesson, and on the courses panel too. He only talks about finance and the competition: a question from another subject he turns down.

Two things worth remembering. Larry is an artificial intelligence and can be wrong, so check anything that matters against the lesson. And the thesis and the portfolio decisions have to stay yours.

Brasília Finance Educacional is live

The Brasília Finance Educacional, the BFC learning platform, goes live today. There are three courses: General, on how money works, with 47 lessons; Intermediate, which prepares you directly for the competition; and Advanced, for those who want to compete abroad.

The General course is free and open to any student in Brazil, competing or not. The other two open automatically with your BFC registration, and those already registered have received their access details by e-mail.

Videos are going up gradually: lessons marked "Em breve" (coming soon) are already in the programme and open on their own as they are published.

Competition open to all of Brazil

The BFC is no longer restricted to the Federal District: any student from 8th grade through the 3rd year of high school, at a school in any state of Brazil, can now register. The change applies to this edition, and teams may mix students from different schools, states and grades.

The First Phase is entirely online, so you can compete from wherever you are. The Grand Final remains in person in Brasília, on October 30 and 31. Keep in mind that travel and accommodation costs for finalist teams are their own responsibility.

Changes to the competition

The BFC 2026 has a new calendar and a much bigger prize pool. Registration now runs until September 18, and the First Phase takes place from September 21 to October 22: these are the Trading Days (September 21 to October 18), in which teams operate the investment simulator, with results announced on October 22. The 5 finalist teams then get a week of preparation, and the Grand Final takes place on October 30 and 31.

The total prize pool rose to R$ 10,000: R$ 5,000 for 1st place, R$ 3,000 for 2nd and R$ 2,000 for 3rd.

The changes were made to give teams more preparation time, to deliver a better event with bigger prizes and greater impact, and to raise the quality of the simulator and of the competition as a whole. See the full dates in the Rules.

New privacy policy

We published the official Privacy Policy of the BFC 2026, explaining what data we collect in the registration form, what it is used for and what your rights are, in line with Brazil's data protection law (LGPD). We recommend it to all teams, especially guardians of underage participants.

Blue3 Investimentos announced as a supporter

Blue3 Investimentos, one of the largest XP-affiliated firms in the country, is officially a supporter of the BFC 2026. The partnership strengthens the bridge between participants and the real financial market, one of the competition's central goals.

Registration open

Registration for the BFC 2026 is officially open! Teams of 1 to 4 students, from 8th grade through high school at schools anywhere in Brazil, can register free of charge until September 18 through the registration form. The Trading Days begin on September 21.
