From Philadelphia
to Brasília.

The BFC grew out of the Brasília Finance Club, founded by us at HHA Investments. Our team took 2nd place globally at the Wharton Global High School Investment Competition, the most prestigious finance competition in the world for high school students. We delivered the best performance by a Latin American team in the history of the competition, becoming the first Brazilians to travel to the Global Final in Philadelphia. and we do not intend to be the last on the world stage.

To pass that knowledge forward, we created the BFC. Our goal is to teach finance both to those who want to learn to manage their own money and to those who want to compete globally and work in the field.

FAQ

No. The BFC is open to any student from 8th grade through high school, regardless of finance knowledge or coursework. The competition is a learning opportunity.
Teams can have 1 to 4 members. You may register individually. Members can be from different schools and different grades. for example, a 9th grader and a 1st-year high school student from different schools can form the same team. There is no single-school or single-grade restriction.
Registration is completely free. There is no cost to take part in the BFC 2026.
Tools such as ChatGPT, Claude or Larry, the BFE tutor, can help with research. The thesis, the portfolio decisions and the conclusions must reflect the team's own reasoning, and a submission that looks entirely AI-generated, with no analysis of its own, is disqualified.
The mandate describes the profile of the simulated institutional client: investment objective, risk tolerance, constraints and time horizon. It sets the parameters within which your team must build the portfolio. It will be released at the launch in August.
Yes. The BFC is open to students from schools anywhere in Brazil. The First Phase is entirely online, done remotely. The Grand Final is held in person in Brasília, and travel and accommodation costs are the team's responsibility.
